Russian ballerina Anastasia Volochkova stated she is unable to personally congratulate her 21-year-old daughter Ariadna on her birthday.
She revealed that her daughter does not answer her phone calls and that she has not known her address for six years.
In comments reported by news outlet Super, Volochkova explained that she cannot even send flowers to her daughter because she does not know her location. She admitted that relationships within her family are filled with hypocrisy and expressed her belief that they will never become sincere again.
Volochkova claimed that the public in Russia shows her more love than her own daughter does. She stated she knows the origin of the estrangement, alleging that Ariadna was turned against her long ago.
According to the ballerina, the dynamic stems from two sources, involving her own mother on one side and Ariadna's father along with his family on the other side.
Volochkova also recalled an instance when her mother promised to make her relationship with Ariadna worse than the relationship between Volochkova and her mother was. The ballerina noted that she perceived those words as a curse.
Daughter Changed Surname After Marriage
The family rift follows earlier tension over Ariadna's surname. In 2025, Volochkova's only daughter got married and took her husband's surname, becoming Ariadna Grigoryan.
Volochkova previously called her daughter's decision to change her surname after marriage complete nonsense. The ballerina stated that she proudly carries the surname of her father, athlete Yuri Volochkov.
