Amazon has cut the price of the Philips i9000 Prestige electric shaver from its official 449.99 euros to 285.99 euros, a reduction of more than 160 euros. The shaver is sold directly by Philips at the higher price on its own website, according to the report.

The i9000 Prestige is built for users who want a close shave, careful treatment of the skin and technology that adapts to the contours of the face, rather than a simple, no-frills machine. Its finish, materials and construction are designed to position it as a premium tool for frequent use.

Flexible heads and wet or dry use
The shaver uses compact, flexible heads that adjust to the curves of the face, allowing it to keep contact with the skin even in difficult areas such as the neck or under the nose.

It is also a wet and dry shaver, meaning it can be used dry, with foam or gel, or even in the shower. It includes a digital display that shows information such as battery level.

Lift and cut technology
The shaver uses a triple-action Lift and Cut system designed to lift hair before cutting it at skin level. Philips states that it can achieve a cut as close as 0.00 mm to the skin.

It is fitted with double SteelPrecision blades capable of up to 7 million cutting movements per minute, designed to capture hair growing in different directions. The constant contact of the heads means users do not need to go over the same area repeatedly, which reduces irritation.

SkinIQ sensors and pressure guidance
The shaver includes SkinIQ technology, which uses sensors to analyze how a person is shaving and help achieve better results. It also has a pressure sensor that detects whether too much force is being applied, or whether more pressure is needed for better contact, guiding the user through a small light indicator.

With a recommended price of 449.99 euros, the i9000 Prestige sits in the high end of electric shavers. At 285.99 euros on Amazon, the discount brings the price down by more than 160 euros compared with its usual cost.
