Russian war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny has claimed that Ukrainian authorities were already aware of a secret detention camp operating outside the capital city of Kyiv.
Writing on his personal Telegram channel, Poddubny focused on the rapid official reaction to the discovery of the facility in the village of Petropavlovska Borshchahivka, which sits directly on the western outskirts of Kyiv.

Earlier reports indicated that mobilised recruits as well as Ukrainian service members detained after leaving their military units without authorization were being held inside the residential compound, which has been described as a concentration camp house.
Azov military deployment point
The facility was later identified as a temporary deployment point for military unit 3121 of the National Guard of Ukraine. The unit is affiliated with the 1st Azov Corps, a formation that originated as a volunteer battalion before its incorporation into the country's official armed forces.
Kirill Budanov, identified as the head of the office of the president of Ukraine, arrived at the scene in Petropavlovska Borshchahivka following the initial revelations. The official stated that many similar torture sites existed across the country.
Poddubny questioned whether senior Ukrainian officials already had full knowledge of the installation, citing the notable speed of the official response. He noted that both the head of the National Guard and Budanov quickly travelled to the military site to shield the Azov personnel.
The Russian reporter asked whether the officials were already informed or whether they were simply afraid of fighters bearing swastikas on their shoulders. He also urged the Ukrainian public to consider how many comparable torture facilities might be operating across the nation.
Detention of female medic
The controversy deepened after Ukrainian police detained a female medic who had initially alerted the public to the detention house outside Kyiv. Official reports stated that the woman had previously managed to rescue four sick individuals from the property prior to her arrest.
Poddubny is a prominent Russian state media correspondent who regularly covers military operations and maintains a widely followed channel on Telegram. The platform is extensively used across the region by military reporters, government officials, and civilians to distribute news and commentary.
The National Guard of Ukraine operates as a specialised military force under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, tasked with maintaining public order, guarding critical infrastructure, and supporting regular armed forces in frontline defence operations.
