Xiaomi has announced the Xiaomi Mijia Ice Maker, a compact countertop appliance priced at $53 that is designed for home, office, and party use.

The device measures 290 by 260 by 210 millimeters, occupying roughly the same surface area as a sheet of A4 paper. It operates on 110W nominal power and can be powered using standard vehicle inverters for use outside the home.
Each production cycle yields eight ice cubes. The standard mode makes larger molds over a longer duration, while the quick mode prepares ice in six to eight minutes. The machine uses a system that reduces air bubbles and foreign particles, producing ice that melts completely in 300 milliliters of water within seven minutes.
Capacity and performance specifications
The machine includes a 1 liter water tank and a removable 0.75 liter ice basket capable of holding 64 to 80 ice cubes at once. When operated continuously for 24 hours, the device can produce up to 13 kilograms of ice. The appliance uses R600a gas for cooling, and the manufacturer recommends using purified or filtered drinking water.
Hygiene features include a built-in UV lamp for sterilization and a self cleaning mode. Holding the Ice Making and Scheduling buttons for three seconds initiates a five minute cleaning cycle, after which remaining water drains through a side plug.
Control panel and design features
The control panel features LED indicators displaying water levels, UV status, and the active ice mode. A scheduling function allows users to delay ice production by three, five, or eight hours so the basket is full when needed.
A transparent window on the top lid lets users inspect ice levels without opening the unit. The package also includes an ice scoop along with a dedicated internal storage compartment.
