A nightclub in Pamiers, in the Ariège region of southern France, will open its doors exclusively to women on Saturday, September 5, 2026, as part of a touring party concept called "Maman sort ce soir" (Mom Goes Out Tonight). From 7pm to 11pm, no men or children will be allowed inside the N'Joy venue, marking the third time the event has been held in the town.
Ophelie, one of two sisters who founded the association behind the concept, said it gives women a chance to let go without their children present, while still finishing early enough to go to work the next day. The event has grown from a small association into a full company because of its popularity.
A sold-out first night
The very first edition of "Maman sort ce soir" drew more than three hundred women in a single evening. The organisers said it was a complete success from the start, forcing them to close presale ticket sales because the N'Joy venue was too small to hold everyone who wanted to attend.
Pamiers, which has a recorded population of 16,473 according to the French national statistics agency Insee, has proven to be a stronger market for the concept than larger cities such as Toulouse. Ophelie said there is a clear difference between big and small towns: larger cities tend to take longer to fill up, often starting with around 200 attendees before gradually climbing to 250 or 300, whereas smaller towns sell out from the very first night. She said this is because smaller towns generally offer fewer nightlife options, making the concept especially appealing there.
A break for mothers
For many of the women who attend, the appeal lies in finding an open, judgement-free space to unwind, particularly for mothers. The organisers said many women approach them at the end of the night to say thank you, explaining that it had been ten or fifteen years since they had last been out to a nightclub, since club crowds tend to skew very young these days.
The founders, who are originally from Tarbes in the Hautes-Pyrenees region, said being surrounded only by women also makes it easier for attendees to relax, letting them dance, leave a drink or a handbag somewhere without worry, and move freely in a way they would not feel comfortable doing at a typical mixed nightclub.
Several generations together
The events also bring together women of very different ages. The organisers said it is not unusual to see a granddaughter, her mother and her grandmother all attend the same night, describing it as a moment the women give themselves to sing, dance and let loose together.
The association was founded a year and a half ago by sisters Ophelie and Maelys, and has since become a registered company. Demand has far outstripped what the two originally expected. Ophelie explained that a year before launching the club nights, she had already been organising daytime outings for women, including workshops and hikes. When they decided to try nightclub evenings instead, the idea spread so quickly on social media that the pair now run events in between fifteen and twenty towns every month.

To join the September 5 event, attendees can find the venue location posted on the Facebook and Instagram accounts for "Maman sort ce soir." Entry with one drink costs 15 euros, while a full pass that includes a meal and various accessories costs 38 euros.
