A forest fire is active in the Cerro Muriano area, in the municipality of Córdoba, Spain. The alert was received at 7:43 p.m. on Monday, and officers from the regional Plan Infoca firefighting service have been working intensively since then to contain the flames.

Large deployment of resources

A significant firefighting operation has been deployed to fight the blaze. Twenty-one personnel are on the ground, supported by two fire engines. In the air, two medium-weight helicopters are taking part in extinguishing efforts, along with two air tankers operating from the ground, as crews try to bring the fire's perimeter under control as quickly as possible.

Location of the fire

The fire broke out in a sensitive area next to the N-432 road, specifically near the junction that gives access to the Los Villares Periurban Park. The blaze's proximity to the road and the park has added complexity to extinguishing efforts and raised concern about its possible spread.
