Dominican musicians Wason Brazobán and Don Miguelo will perform together at a joint concert titled Romantichapas at the Hotel Habana in Higüey on Saturday, October 17.
The event brings together romantic ballads and urban music in a single evening showcase. Organizers Angel Productions and Pepe Meseta stated that the production aims to offer audiences a distinct musical experience featuring two prominent Dominican artists.

Brazobán, a celebrated Dominican singer and songwriter, will present a repertoire spanning many popular songs focused on themes of love and heartbreak. His music has long served as a backdrop for romantic storytelling across the country.
Brazobán first achieved national recognition as the lead songwriter and principal vocalist for the pop-ballad group Negros in the early 2000s. After embarking on a solo career, he established himself as a central figure in Latin pop and romantic ballads, earning multiple awards for his compositions and live concert performances.
Don Miguelo, widely known by his stage title El Mejor, will perform his major urban hits during the show. The artist stands as one of the most influential figures in Dominican urban music, a genre that blends Caribbean rhythms with modern hip hop and reggaeton influences.
Born Miguel Ángel Valerio Lebrón in San Francisco de Macorís, Don Miguelo rose to national fame in 2004 with his breakout single Maura. He became a key pioneer in popularizing dembow, an energetic subgenre of Caribbean urban music that originated in Jamaica and developed a distinct style in the Dominican Republic.
Viral success of hit song
Don Miguelo's concert setlist will include his popular song ¿Y qué fue?. The track gained international attention after being featured in celebrations and dances by international athletes, including Spanish football star Lamine Yamal.
Yamal, a teenage winger for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Spain national team, helped bring wider global awareness to the track during national team victory celebrations. The song was originally written and recorded in the Dominican Republic during the COVID-19 pandemic before achieving worldwide viral reach six years later.
Streaming figures confirm that ¿Y qué fue? has accumulated over 180 million views on YouTube. In addition, videos created by users on the TikTok social media platform using the track have generated more than 51.9 billion views, demonstrating the ongoing global reach of Dominican urban music.
