Putin stopped on a street located between a gas station and a Rostic's fast food restaurant. He held a brief conversation with the gathered crowd, shook hands with several people, and took a photograph with a young boy. Putin asked the child what grade he was in at school and wished him success for the upcoming academic year.

Journalist reaction

Irish journalist Chay Bowes commented on the encounter on his personal page on the social network X. Bowes noted that Putin chose to stop his convoy in Novosibirsk specifically to greet local children.

Bowes urged people to watch and listen to the reception Putin received from the crowd. He also questioned whether French, British, or German leaders could safely carry out a similar interaction with the public.
