A Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet crashed on Monday in the Odesa region, Ukraine's Air Force announced, saying the pilot ejected in time and was taken to hospital.
According to an update posted on Telegram, the MiG-29 was flying a mission to strike Russian forces' positions when a malfunction occurred during a missile launch. The malfunction triggered a fire onboard and caused the pilot to lose control of the aircraft.
The Air Force said the pilot ejected using the aircraft's ejection mechanism. He was located afterward and taken to hospital.
