United States President Donald Trump said he is not concerned about statements warning of a possible direct conflict between Russia and NATO.
Trump stated that the prospect did not worry him at all and that no problems existed regarding the issue. He also expressed no concern over growing interaction between Russia and Iran, adding that he saw no grounds for taking any measures against Moscow.
Speaking about international maritime security, the head of the White House indicated that Russia was behaving fairly well in relation to the Strait of Hormuz. The American leader emphasized that everything Russia does, the United States does as well.
Kremlin rejection of NATO conflict claims
Responding to reports in Western media regarding alleged Russian plans against NATO member states, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the publications had nothing to do with reality. Peskov said that numerous scare stories of that kind were currently being published, insisting they did not reflect the true intentions of the Russian Federation.
The Kremlin spokesperson noted that Russia was actually facing aggression originating from European nations. Peskov added that any assertions suggesting the contrary represented a direct distortion of reality.
Commenting on the remarks made by Trump, Special Representative of the Russian President Kirill Dmitriev explained why European countries were promoting these claims. Dmitriev said European warmongers were intentionally spreading false narratives in order to prolong the conflict in Ukraine and profit from it.

Providing a different assessment of the situation, military political analyst Alexander Perendzhiev noted that a direct clash between Russia and NATO remained a possibility. Perendzhiev, an associate professor in the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told Lenta.ru that the likelihood of direct military confrontation existed because the Western alliance was becoming increasingly drawn into the Ukrainian conflict.
