The holiday home of Greek actor Tasos Chalkias in Porto Germeno has been completely destroyed, as a large wildfire burned through the area.
His son, Aris Chalkias, announced the news to his social media followers, posting a photograph of the ruined house. He said he was going through a form of grief, and that dreams, memories, laughter, joy and a lifetime's savings had turned to ashes in a single night.

In his post, Aris Chalkias said a 52 year story was ending this way. He said dreams, memories, laughter, joy, a lifetime's savings, and childhood, teenage and adult years had all become ash in one night. He said it was somewhat unbearable, and that he wished no one else would go through a similar experience. He added that responsibilities and explanations would come in their own time, and that for now, there was mourning.
