TAScombank launches new mobile app after $2m investment

TAScombank, a major Ukrainian commercial bank headquartered in Kyiv, plans to launch a completely updated mobile banking application in August after investing more than $2 million into the project.

Volodymyr Dubey, the chairman of the board at TAScombank, announced the upcoming release in an interview with news outlet LIGA.net on August 12. He disclosed that the financial institution halted updates on its existing software for the past two years while shifting development toward a new technological platform.

Responding to comments regarding low user ratings for TAScombank, EasyBank, and TAS Business applications compared to monobank from the same corporate group, Dubey acknowledged that the monobank team operates effectively. He noted that judging by user scores, TAScombank had worked less effectively.

Dubey explained that objective and subjective factors contributed to the rating gap. He stated that investing money into an old application operating on an outdated platform made no sense, apologizing to customers and requesting their patience during the transition period.

While the new app will launch in August, Dubey stated it would not immediately surpass every existing product on the market. However, he emphasized that the bank will continue to invest in and develop the software, ensuring clients feel the improvements over time.

Development Costs and Software Partner

TAScombank has spent over $2 million on the new mobile app so far, according to Dubey. He added that the final expenditure remains unknown because active development work is still ongoing.

The application is being built by Trigger Software, an IT company based in Ukraine that specializes in software development for banks and fintech companies. Trigger Software previous products include the Trigger Neobank Engine and the O.Bank application created for Idea Bank.

Financial Performance and Corporate Ownership

Founded in 1989, TAScombank is one of the earliest commercial banks established in Ukraine. The lender operates as a major financial institution focused primarily on business banking services, maintaining over 80 branches as of late July 2026.

In 2025, TAScombank generated more than 1 billion hryvnias in net profit, ranking 17th overall among Ukrainian banks by net income performance for that year.

The bank has been part of the TAS financial-industrial group owned by Serhiy Tigipko since 2004. The corporate group also includes Universal Bank, which operates the mobile-only banking platform monobank.
