Fashion designer Sofia Karvela traveled from New York to Athens for just a single night to support her mother, singer Anna Vissi, at a major concert at the OAKA stadium.
Following the show, Karvela shared a video from the event on Instagram alongside a message reflecting on her relationship with her mother's public career and fame.
Karvela wrote that sharing her mother and her god-given talent with the rest of the world was a struggle she had to endure for many years. She explained that she was forced to learn to accept that reality alongside her own human mediocrity, adding that her mother continues to shine ever brighter.

Over time, Karvela noted that she has come to terms with her mother's role as a performer born to belong to her public audience and to evoke deep feelings in people. She stated that she forgives both her mother and her creator for her not being an ordinary mother who could belong exclusively to her daughter.
Describing her experience watching the performance from the audience, Karvela said she surrendered once again to her mother's greatness on the night of the concert. She wrote that she allowed Vissi and her voice to transport her to a magical place.
