Russian pop singer Sergey Lazarev has named daily hard work and maternal support as the primary secrets behind his professional success.
Speaking in comments reported by Russian news outlet KP.RU, the performer explained that his family never lived in luxury and that everything he achieved required immense labor from his mother.
Lazarev said his mother worked tirelessly and always maintained her belief in him, even during very difficult financial periods. He shared that observing her dedication helped him realize early in life that talent in itself means nothing without consistent effort every single day.

Surprise appearance for graduating students
His remarks about perseverance follow a recent public gesture in which the artist traveled to Nizhny Novgorod to attend a last bell celebration for local 11th-grade students.
Lazarev explained that he decided to attend the festive event after seeing a video clip posted by the pupils asking him to visit them, adding that he could not refrain from reacting to their personal request.
Pop music career and Russian traditions
Lazarev is a widely recognized pop singer, actor, and television host in Russia. He first gained national fame as part of the pop duo Smash!! before building a successful solo music career. He went on to represent Russia twice at the international Eurovision Song Contest, securing third place finishes in both 2016 and 2019.
The last bell is a traditional ceremony in the Russian school system held every year to mark the conclusion of classes for graduating high school seniors before they take their final school examinations. Nizhny Novgorod, where the students hosted their event, is one of the largest economic and cultural hubs in western Russia, located at the junction of the Volga and Oka rivers.
KP.RU is the official website of Komsomolskaya Pravda, a high-circulation tabloid daily newspaper headquartered in Moscow that regularly reports on celebrity profiles, music news, and national culture.
