Russian domain registrar Reg.ru explained that the widespread network failure was caused by electricity supply disruptions at a major communications hub. The registrar stated that the incident was linked to external power supply issues at the hub rather than defects in its own internal infrastructure.
Reg.ru warned that certain online resources and services might remain temporarily inaccessible while infrastructure repairs were underway. The company expressed hope that normal operations across the affected network nodes would be restored as quickly as possible.

Moscow blackout and substation report
The internet outage coincided with local power supply disruptions in the Russian capital. Moscow's municipal economy complex reported that a short-term power failure affected consumers in the Gagarinsky district and several other capital districts due to a technical switching of power supply sources.
Municipal officials stated that electricity supply to all affected consumers has been restored to normal operating conditions. City authorities also emphasized that information circulating on social media platforms regarding severe aftermath from the power incident was inaccurate.
However, the Russian news Telegram channel 112 reported that electricity was cut to major commercial venues, including the Yerevan Plaza and Gagarinsky shopping centers. Channel 112 alleged that a loud pop was heard at an electrical substation on Vavilova Street shortly before power was lost.
