Russian blogger Yulia Pushman required medical assistance and an intravenous drip at a clinic while on holiday in Turkey after falling severely ill.
Pushman, who is holidaying in Turkey with her children, shared a photograph on her Telegram channel showing her lying in a hospital bed attached to an IV drip. She disclosed that she had been suffering from severe illness for several days before seeking professional medical care.
Describing her condition online, Pushman said one day was particularly severe, leaving her shivering, sweating, and sleeping for an entire day without eating any food. She added that intense stomach pain on the following day prompted her and her companions to visit a local clinic to receive intravenous hydration.
Suspected infection at water park
Pushman suggested that her condition might have been caused by a rotavirus infection or Escherichia coli bacteria. She explained that she may have contracted the infection after accidentally swallowing water while riding a water slide at an aquapark.
Rotavirus and E. coli are widespread causes of acute gastroenteritis, an infection causing stomach inflammation, severe abdominal cramps, fever, and dehydration. Health authorities note that recreational water facilities, including water parks and swimming pools, are common transmission sites for gastrointestinal pathogens when pool water is inadvertently swallowed.
Intravenous therapy is commonly administered in clinic settings to treat dehydration and restore vital fluids when patients cannot keep food or liquids down due to gastrointestinal distress.
Prior health scares and online profile
Pushman is a well known Russian video blogger and social media personality who built a large online audience through lifestyle vlogs, personal updates, and travel content. Turkey remains one of the most frequented international holiday destinations for Russian families and tourists.
The medical emergency in Turkey follows a previous health issue reported shortly after Pushman gave birth, when an emergency medical team was summoned to her residence after her blood pressure suddenly skyrocketed.
