Russian singer Rita Dakota has accused her former husband Vlad Sokolovsky of lying about child support after he claimed he paid regularly.

The performer, whose registered name is Margarita Belogay, published the response on her Instagram account after Sokolovsky publicly pushed back against her earlier statements regarding his financial contributions.
Dakota described Sokolovsky's online post as vile and insisted that it was filled with falsehoods. She stated that the artist contacted her immediately after her initial public remarks about him, assuring her that he provides money every month for the upkeep of their mutual daughter.
Disputed child support payments
According to Dakota, Sokolovsky maintains that he pays 60,000 rubles in monthly child support on a regular basis, and he expressed deep outrage at the suggestion that the payments were inconsistent. However, she said he frantically transferred the money for three overdue months only after she highlighted the situation.
To substantiate her claims, the singer shared a screenshot of a bank transfer receipt showing 180,000 rubles sent by Sokolovsky. Details visible on the transaction screen indicated that the funds were sent to his former wife at 11:44 on the morning of October 25, 2026.
The public dispute began earlier when Dakota called Sokolovsky a disgrace over the child support issue, claiming that her former husband only transferred money according to his mood. Sokolovsky responded to the allegations shortly afterward, stating that describing his payments as irregular or every other time was unacceptable.
Background of the former couple
The two artists originally met in 2007 as contestants on the seventh season of Star Factory, a television talent show that launched numerous major pop careers in Russia. Sokolovsky subsequently achieved nationwide fame as a member of the pop duo BiS, while Dakota established herself as a successful solo singer and commercial songwriter.
The couple married in 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Mia, in 2017 before divorcing in 2018 amid extensive coverage in Russian entertainment media. Both musicians have since maintained active musical careers and large public followings while managing shared parenting responsibilities.
Sokolovsky has not publicly commented on the bank transfer screenshot shared by his former wife. Dakota released the post on Instagram, a platform owned by Meta that remains banned across Russia under laws classifying the technology company as an extremist organization.
