A Reddit user shared her frustration after her boyfriend lied to his friends that she forced him to stay naked at home, prompting them to ridicule her.

Reddit user mocked by boyfriend's friends over naked joke

A Reddit user identified as Broad-Maize-4071 has publicly detailed how an innocent joke to her boyfriend led to mocking messages from his friends.

The woman explained online that she had playfully mentioned wanting to see her partner without clothes more often, only for him to claim in a group text that she was forcing him to remain undressed.

Writing on the social discussion platform, she revealed that she admired her partner's physique and jokingly suggested it would be nice if he walked around naked in front of her on occasion. Her boyfriend initially brushed off the comment, and she did not press the matter further.

Two days later, however, she walked into the kitchen to find him cooking breakfast completely unclothed. Delighted by the gesture, she made another playful comment expressing how much she enjoyed the view and wishing he could be naked for her every day. She later clarified in her post that she had no expectation for him to spend seven days a week without clothing.

Discovery of text messages

The situation turned uncomfortable when she accidentally glanced at her boyfriend's smartphone screen shortly afterwards. She spotted a message from one of his friends, accompanied by a laughing emoji, asking if she was really forcing him to walk around their home naked.

Horrified by the message, the woman confronted her partner to clarify what had been said. Upon checking his phone with her, she discovered that he had explicitly texted his friend group that his girlfriend was now compelling him to go without clothes.

The group chat revealed that his friends were ridiculing her over the situation. While her boyfriend claimed he had only shared the story because he found her comment amusing, his messages actively mocked her and portrayed her request as ridiculous.

Online relationship discussions

Reddit functions as a global social media network where individuals frequently share personal experiences and seek advice on relationship boundaries. The platform hosts millions of active discussion threads covering personal topics, privacy concerns, and interpersonal conflicts.

The woman did not share how the argument with her boyfriend ultimately resolved after the confrontation. Her story mirrors similar relationship disclosures on digital forums, including a recent case where another woman decided to file for divorce after discovering on a European vacation that her husband was secretly messaging his former girlfriend.
