Actress Raquel Lee Bolleau has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company over allegations of repeated sexual assault by a former employee, according to a report by the Daily Mail.
Bolleau, who was once considered a rising star in children's television, alleged that she was repeatedly raped as a teenager by a company employee. She stated that the man, whose identity remains confidential, provided her with alcohol, manipulated her, and blackmailed her by claiming her acting career would be destroyed if she did not comply.
Bolleau is an American actress known for her appearances in prominent teen television programs during the late 1990s and early 2000s, including guest and recurring roles on the sketch comedy series The Amanda Show and the sitcom The Bernie Mac Show. The Walt Disney Company is a global entertainment conglomerate headquartered in Burbank, California, that operates major television networks, film studios, and streaming services aimed at children and family audiences.
Allegations of company failure and retaliation
According to Bolleau, the unnamed male employee had been assigned to her directly by Disney project executives. She stated that when she repeatedly reported his abusive behavior to supervisors, company officials failed to intervene or take action to stop the conduct.
Bolleau said she was 14 years old at the time the alleged abuse occurred. Instead of receiving assistance, she stated that company management accused her of inappropriate behavior and threatened to terminate her employment contract. She added that after Disney executives allegedly declared that she had gone out of control, she was removed from several prospective roles and upcoming entertainment projects.
Response from Disney and related industry reports
The Daily Mail reported that The Walt Disney Company has not yet issued an official public response or statement regarding the lawsuit and Bolleau's claims.
