PMIRD Awards 2026 Now Open for Project Excellence

PMIRD has opened entries for its 2026 awards honoring project management excellence in the Dominican Republic, open until August 30.

PMIRD Awards 2026 Now Open for Project Excellence

The Project Management Institute's Dominican Republic chapter, known as PMIRD, has opened applications for the PMIRD Awards 2026, a program that recognizes excellence in project management and highlights organizations driving transformation, innovation and sustainable development through results-oriented strategic management.

The call for entries opened on July 1 and will close on August 30. It is open to organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors that wish to submit projects or initiatives demonstrating outstanding performance in applying good project management practices.

Two award categories

This year's PMIRD Awards include two main recognition categories. The first is the PMIRD Project of the Year Award, which honors initiatives in the categories of Construction and Infrastructure, Engineering or Technology, Sustainability, and Social Project. It rewards projects that show excellence in execution, innovation, value generation and organizational and social impact.

The second category is the PMIRD PMO of the Year Award, which recognizes Project Management Offices, known as PMOs, that have strengthened their organization's capacity to carry out strategy. It rewards high levels of maturity, leadership and a significant contribution to meeting institutional goals.

How entries will be judged

Applications will be evaluated by a specialized panel of judges using criteria aligned with the international standards of the Project Management Institute, known as PMI. Judges will weigh strategic alignment, execution excellence, innovation, value generation, impact achieved and the sustainability of results.

Wanda Mercedes De Jesús, president of PMIRD, said the initiative gives the country a platform to recognize organizations advancing national development through high-level project management.

She said the PMIRD Awards celebrate a commitment to excellence and recognize those who show that effective project management can transform organizations, generate sustainable value and produce a positive impact on society.

She added that the awards also inspire other institutions to raise their standards and strengthen the culture of project management in the Dominican Republic.
