Peruvian singers Susana Baca, Eva Ayllón, Dayan Flor and Tony Succar, along with rising artists Amy Gutiérrez and Milena Warthon, have submitted their music for consideration at the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards, presented by the Latin Recording Academy.
The artists shared their entries on social media, tagging them for Latin Grammy consideration, marking the start of one of the most anticipated and competitive stages of the Latin music industry's award season.
Voting Opens for 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards
This year's ceremony will be the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, honoring recordings in Spanish, Portuguese and other Ibero-American languages. Before the Academy names the year's top productions, its voting members, including artists, composers, producers and engineers, are responsible for selecting the list of possible nominees. That voting round remains open until Monday, August 10.
Among the Peruvian artists seeking recognition are Baca, Succar, Ayllón and Flor, the first folk artist to reach this stage of the competition. They are joined by younger artists Gutiérrez and Warthon, both chasing their first Latin Grammy nominations.
Warthon and Gutiérrez Chase First Nominations
Warthon is seeking her first Latin Grammy nomination in the Best Contemporary Pop Album category with her record "Latinchola." Gutiérrez hopes to compete for Best Pop Song with "Cuidado conmigo," written by Rodrigo Revoredo.
Dayan Flor Vies for Best Folk Album
Flor, who was pre-nominated as best vocalist at the InterContinental Music Awards 2026, is hoping her album "Herencia sureña" will be recognized in the Best Folk Album category. The Juliaca-born singer faces competition from fellow Peruvian artists Ayllón, entered with "Concierto De Gala - Desde El Gran Teatro Nacional Live," Pepe Alva, with "Himnos De La Tierra, Vol. 1," and Baca, with "El Viaje De La Lengua."
Flor said the album was made with a great deal of love and respect for her roots, with the aim of sharing the essence of her homeland through every song. She thanked the team of musicians, composers, producers and engineers who made the project possible.
Flor has also been put forward in the Best Roots Song category for "Puedo vivir sin ti," written by Lino Roshel Larico Turpo and performed alongside Milder Oré.
Grammy Winner Tony Succar Submits 'Asuccar'
Tony Succar, a Grammy winner, said he was excited to submit his work for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards. His album "Asuccar" is entered in the Best Salsa Album category, while "Afincao," a collaboration between the son of Mimi Succar and singer Gilberto Santa Rosa, could be nominated for Best Tropical Song.
The Peruvian producer said he was grateful to present the project for consideration, describing "Asuccar" as a record made with a great deal of love and flavor alongside an extraordinary team of musicians, artists, composers and engineers. He congratulated fellow artists submitting their music this year, saying he had been listening to incredible productions that inspired him to keep creating, growing and challenging himself with every new project.
The Latin Grammy Awards have been presented annually by the Latin Recording Academy since 2000, recognizing music recorded in Spanish, Portuguese and other Ibero-American languages across genres from pop to salsa, folk and tropical music. Baca, a longtime figure in Afro-Peruvian music, previously served as Peru's minister of culture.
