The Lima Stock Exchange hosted the traditional Campanazo bell ringing ceremony on Wednesday, September 2, to officially launch Peru's Teleton 2026 fundraising campaign.
The annual charity drive aims to raise 9,168,510 Peruvian soles to fund specialized medical care and rehabilitation for children across the country.
Organisers confirmed that the main national broadcast will take place on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, under the official slogan La hacemos todos, meaning We all make it happen.

The bell ringing ceremony at the Lima Stock Exchange, known locally as the Campanazo, is a traditional market event used in Peru to mark major financial listings and nationwide philanthropic initiatives. The Bolsa de Valores de Lima serves as the principal stock exchange of Peru, located in the capital city of Lima.
Prominent government officials and charity leaders attended the launch event on Wednesday. Participants included Luis Galarreta, President of the Council of Ministers; Elmer Cuba, Minister of Economy and Finance; and Mara Seminario Marón, Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations.
Actor and presenter Ismael La Rosa hosted the official ceremony, which featured Father Isidro, a long-time promoter of the Teleton movement, alongside child ambassadors representing young patients who receive treatment through the initiative.
Father Isidro said organisers held a strong expectation of surpassing the 9,000,000 soles threshold during this year's edition. He said that funds raised through the campaign would ensure that many children continue receiving essential therapy and rehabilitation services.
He added that the organization aimed to assist children currently on waiting lists, with a special focus on young people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who currently lack access to care due to high treatment costs.
The priest noted that new specialized centers were opening in both Lima, on Peru's central coast, and Arequipa, the second most populous city in the country. He said funding raised from the public would directly support children who urgently require treatment.
The 2026 event will be broadcast nationwide across commercial network América Multimedia, state broadcaster TV Perú, and multiple digital streaming platforms.
Fundraising Target and Medical Services
The 2026 fundraising target of 9,168,510 soles exceeds the total collected during the previous year's campaign by exactly 1 sol. Organisers emphasized that the target carries both practical and symbolic weight for pediatric care in Peru.
Fundación Teletón Perú has organized the national solidarity campaign for more than 40 years, bringing together citizens, private companies, public institutions, and volunteers to support pediatric healthcare.
Proceeds from the annual campaign directly support children and adolescents living with physical or motor disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and autism. The funds allow clinics to maintain existing rehabilitation services and expand specialized care programs over the coming months.
The primary beneficiary of the fundraising drive is the network of San Juan de Dios clinics. Operated by the Hospitaller Order of St John of God, a Catholic healthcare order, these clinics provide specialized orthopedic, physical therapy, and neurodevelopmental rehabilitation services across Peru.
Sergio León, the chief executive officer of Fundación Teletón Perú, said every public contribution represented a major responsibility for the foundation.
He said organisers wanted the country to witness the tangible impact of its solidarity and feel confident that donated resources directly translated into physical rehabilitation and new life opportunities for children.

Donation Channels and Corporate Appeal
Organisers have established multiple payment channels to allow citizens and businesses across Peru to contribute to the 2026 campaign.
Donations can be made digitally through the Yape mobile application to the mobile number 989 361 677. Yape is the widely used digital wallet platform operated by Banco de Crédito del Perú.
In-person contributions are being accepted at checkout counters in major retail store chains nationwide, including plazaVea, Vivanda, Mass, Makro, and Promart. Additional payment methods and online banking options are available through the official Teleton website.
As the campaign enters its final preparation phase, Fundación Teletón Perú issued an explicit call to the business sector to join the national cause.
Foundation leaders urged corporate executives to mobilize their employees, client networks, and local communities to ensure that more children can continue building a future with greater autonomy and hope.
