Peruvian singer Pelo D’Ambrosio has responded to criticism over his distant attitude toward cumbia singer Cielo Fernández during their joint appearance at Acceso al corazón 4, a Corazón Serrano concert held at Costa 21 on July 28.
During a TikTok live session on July 31, D’Ambrosio was asked why he seemed apathetic at the show. He said he is an artist who gives recitals at his performances and that he does not dance or flirt with younger female colleagues, adding that a 60-year-old man doing so would look ridiculous.
He also said technical difficulties affected his performance. He explained that he had no audio monitor return, which prevented him from hearing himself, and that heavy stage smoke made the floor invisible. He said the worst thing that can happen to a performer is to fall.
D’Ambrosio denied any ill feeling toward Fernández, saying he had no reason to ignore or slight anyone, least of all her. He described the former Son del Duke vocalist as someone with wonderful talent and said he holds her in the same regard as every member of the Corazón Serrano group.
