Pop star Olivia Rodrigo has revealed that she wants to cover songs by fellow artist Ariana Grande after spending recent weeks listening to Grande's latest album.
Speaking in an interview with Wonderland magazine ahead of her upcoming music festival in Irvine, California, Rodrigo expressed strong admiration for Grande's new record, titled Petal. When asked if there was a track by another musician that she would like to perform right away, Rodrigo said she had been listening to Grande's album frequently and might choose a song from it.

Rodrigo, a Grammy Award winning artist known for her chart-topping pop-rock tracks, also spoke about how it feels to hear other musicians perform their own interpretations of her work. She said that watching other creators cover her music is extremely exciting and described the experience as the most perfect feeling possible.
She specifically highlighted recent covers of her music by artists Role Model and Sienna Spiro. Role Model recently recorded a version of her track maggots for brains, while Sienna Spiro delivered a cover of her song less. Rodrigo said that both performers are incredible artists, adding that hearing their renditions was both fun and deeply honoring.
Daisy Chain Fields Festival lineup
The interview comes as Rodrigo prepares to host the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Festival on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the city of Irvine in California. The event is a personal initiative organized by Rodrigo to raise funds for charitable organizations and programs that support women and young girls.
Public demand for the benefit concert was immediate when tickets were released on June 24, selling out completely in just 30 minutes. Rodrigo personally curated the festival's lineup, which features an entirely female roster of musical acts. The concert is part of Rodrigo's broader philanthropic efforts, which included a $5,000 donation on August 21 to help a university student finish her degree.
All-female lineup and charity goals
According to reports by Billboard, the stage will host a wide array of musical acts selected by Rodrigo. The performers include Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, The Breeders, Die Spitz, Quiet Light, and legendary singer Stevie Nicks, who gained fame as the vocalist of Fleetwood Mac.
Rodrigo said she was literally looking forward to the festival, explaining that the bill features many of her personal friends alongside artists she has long admired. She added that she cannot wait to watch every performance throughout the day.
