A 62-year-old resident of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai is set to stand trial after Russian law enforcement completed a criminal investigation into a triple axe killing motivated by jealousy.
The regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia informed news outlet Lenta.ru that the case has been submitted to court after the suspect confessed during questioning and led officers to the location where the bodies were hidden.
According to investigators, the conflict occurred on the evening of September 10, 2025, inside a residential house on Yakovlev Street. A quarrel erupted on the grounds of jealousy between the suspect, his 52-year-old wife with whom he was undergoing divorce proceedings, and her 52-year-old male acquaintance.
During the confrontation, the man grabbed an axe and struck at least two blows to the head of each victim. Both victims died from their injuries at the scene.
Concealment of the crime
At that moment, a 16-year-old female relative of the victim returned home. Investigators stated that the suspect killed the teenager to eliminate a witness to the double murder.
The suspect then dragged all three bodies into the garage. He disposed of the murder weapon, personal belongings, and mobile phones belonging to the victims before driving the male victim's automobile to another district.
The following morning, he transported the bodies to a forest, set them on fire, and buried the remains under earth and tree branches. When questioned about the missing individuals, he claimed they had gone away on vacation.
Investigation and background
Law enforcement officers subsequently discovered blood traces inside the Yakovlev Street home, leading to the suspect's detention. During interrogation, he admitted his guilt and identified the concealment site.
