Three family members died and another person was injured in a shooting on Brooks Road in Prospect Hills, North Carolina, on Wednesday morning, August 5.

All four people involved in the shooting were members of the same family and were over 17 years old. The Caswell County Sheriff announced that one person was taken to the hospital, though officials did not clarify the severity of the victim's injuries.

Land Dispute and Investigation

The gunman was among the three people killed during the incident. A family member said the shooting occurred after siblings engaged in an intense argument over approximately 600 acres of land inherited from their parents, according to an ABC report.

Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the causes of the armed attack. Officials have not released the identities of those involved.
