Musician Nikita Presnyakov spent the night sleeping on the street in France after losing his hotel room keycard, according to a social media update he shared with followers.
The artist explained that he returned to his accommodation only to discover that his keycard was missing from its usual cardholder. He added that he had no idea where the card had gone.
Presnyakov said the hotel service staff had completed their workday at 8:00 p.m., leaving no reception personnel on site to issue a replacement key. When he tried to seek help, none of the hotel emergency contact numbers were functional, leaving him unable to access his room.
With no alternative accommodation available late at night, Presnyakov was forced to walk to a nearby park and spend the night outdoors.
He shared the story on Instagram, a social media platform banned in Russia whose parent company Meta is classified as an extremist organisation by Russian authorities.
Self-Described Disgrace
The incident in France comes shortly after Presnyakov posted a video of one of his stage performances accompanied by an emotional caption in which he described himself as disgraceful.
Presnyakov, who left Russia following the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, has continued to perform and create music while living abroad. The performer did not specify where in France the hotel incident took place or whether he recovered his belongings the following morning.
Background on Alla Pugacheva
Presnyakov is the grandson of iconic Russian pop singer Alla Pugacheva, one of the most celebrated figures in Soviet and Russian popular music. Pugacheva built a career spanning six decades, selling tens of millions of records across Eastern Europe and receiving numerous state honours.
Pugacheva also departed Russia after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, relocating abroad with her family. Her departure marked one of the most high-profile exits from the Russian cultural scene since the conflict began.
Presnyakov comes from a prominent Russian artistic dynasty. He is the son of pop singer Kristina Orbakaite and musician Vladimir Presnyakov Jr., and has established his own career as a rock vocalist, actor, and director.
