The National Bank of Ukraine weakened the official hryvnia exchange rate against the US dollar by 4 kopiykas to 44.87 hryvnias for Wednesday, August 12. According to data on the regulator website, the Ukrainian currency gained 2 kopiykas against the euro, setting the official rate at 51.76 hryvnias per euro.
On the Ukrainian interbank currency market, hryvnia quotations against the dollar stood at 44.84 to 44.88 hryvnias per dollar by 4:00 p.m. Quotations against the euro reached 51.74 to 51.77 hryvnias per euro.
Commercial bank exchange rates
In Ukrainian commercial banks on August 11, the dollar exchange rate rose by 10 kopiykas to 45.11 hryvnias per dollar, while customers could sell US dollars at an average rate of 44.57 hryvnias. The average euro rate increased by 9 kopiykas to 52.12 hryvnias per euro, with selling set at 51.44 hryvnias per euro.
At PrivatBank, the dollar rate increased by 10 kopiykas to 45.05 hryvnias per dollar, and the euro rate rose by 5 kopiykas to 52.15 hryvnias per euro. Customers could sell American currency at the bank for 44.45 hryvnias per dollar and euros for 51.15 hryvnias per unit.
