Tributes from Christian Dior Couture

Christian Dior Couture officially announced the passing of Favier on Tuesday, August 18, highlighting her extraordinary contribution to the reputation of the luxury fashion house over more than a decade.

Delphine Arnault, president and chief executive of Christian Dior Couture, remembered Favier as both an exceptional professional and a close friend. In her farewell message, Arnault praised Favier's passion for life, optimism, courage, and energy, stating that Dior had lost an incredible professional and she had lost a loyal friend. Arnault extended her condolences to Favier's children, mother, sisters, family, friends, and team.

Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive of Dior's parent conglomerate LVMH, also expressed deep sorrow over her death, highlighting the years she dedicated putting her passion, energy, and talent at the service of Dior.

Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior, publicly shared his grief, stating that he was heartbroken. Anderson described Favier as an extraordinarily warm, positive, and generous person, emphasizing that everyone at Dior owed a debt to her career. In a separate social media post, he remembered her as one of the happiest, kindest, and most generous individuals he had known.

A decade defining Dior public relations

Favier joined Dior in 2011 after previously working at Prada, developing a career closely tied to fashion and communications. Over more than 10 years at the French house, she became a fundamental figure in shaping the brand's image and managing relations with influential global personalities.

Her work went beyond event organization and corporate communication, serving as a primary bridge between Dior and the worlds of fashion, cinema, music, and high society. Through regular appearances at fashion shows, red carpets, and international events, she maintained close relationships with high-profile stars linked to the house, including Natalie Portman, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Beyond her corporate career, Favier reflected her personal connection to Paris through her work as an author. In 2024, she published the visual book Mathilde à Paris, later released in English under the title Living Beautifully in Paris, sharing her perspective on the city, its spaces, and her conception of style and beauty. She was also the mother of two children, Héloïse and Carlo.

The cinematic legacy of Nicolas Altmayer

The tragedy also represents a major loss for French cinema with the death of Altmayer, a prominent 61-year-old producer. In 1996, Altmayer co-founded the production company Mandarin Cinéma alongside his brother Éric, building a company responsible for numerous films that achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim.

Throughout his career, Altmayer was linked to major French films across diverse genres, including OSS 117, Frantz, Young and Beautiful, Mon Crime, and Monsieur Aznavour. His productions enjoyed a strong presence across international festival circuits and film award ceremonies.

French authorities continue their investigation to establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the fatal collision on road 938, as tributes continue to pour in across the fashion and film industries.
