American pop star Madonna has published a new collection of photographs on Instagram documenting her vacation in Greece as her summer trip came to an end.
The singer shared images from her stay across the country, showing her visiting religious sites, posing alongside local monuments, and celebrating her birthday.
In a caption accompanying the snapshot album, Madonna stated that her vacation was over and declared that her sins were her salvation.
Highlights from Patmos and Corfu
Her latest social media update included images taken inside the church at the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian on the island of Patmos, where she was pictured conversing with a local monk.
The album also featured pictures of the artist posing next to a statue and dancing during her birthday night celebrations.
Madonna had previously shared photos from Patmos on August 21, writing at the time that she was enchanted by the Greek island and had felt the presence of God during her visit.
That post followed earlier updates from Corfu on August 18, where she published pictures from her birthday festivities and urged her followers to eat, pray, love, drink, dance, and smash plates.
Travels across Meteora and partner posts
Throughout her tour of Greece, Madonna also visited the historic rock formations of Meteora. The singer was accompanied on the journey by her partner, Akeem Morris, who appeared alongside her in several of the newly published photographs.
Morris had shared his own selection of holiday photos on August 22, setting the images to the musical composition Zorba by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and adding a written message in Greek.
Patmos, an island located in the Aegean Sea, is widely known as a holy destination associated with the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse. Madonna, an internationally acclaimed musician often referred to as the Queen of Pop, has enjoyed a career spanning four decades. The music referenced in her partner's post, Zorba's Dance, was composed by Theodorakis for the 1964 film Zorba the Greek and remains one of the most recognized pieces of Greek orchestral music worldwide.
