The Superior Court of Justice of Lambayeque has delivered computer equipment to 66 peace judges across the provinces of Chiclayo, Lambayeque, and Ferreñafe, as well as the district of Llama in Chota province. Court President Dr. César William Bravo Llaque led the handover ceremony alongside Han Alarcón Bernal, coordinator of the District Office of Support to Peace Justice, known as ODAJUP. Walter Manuel Ascorbe Díaz, the court informatics coordinator, also attended the event.
Alarcón Bernal said the delivery fulfills an institutional commitment made at the start of the administration to reduce the technology gap in peace courts. He noted that many courts had been operating with equipment that had passed its useful life. He added that the new devices will streamline judicial work and improve service for citizens, particularly in the most remote areas of the judicial district.
Support for rural justice
Bravo Llaque said peace judges serve as the first point of contact between citizens and the Judiciary, representing the institution in the most distant areas of the region. He urged the judges to use the equipment properly and to carry out their duties with honesty, transparency, and dedication to the public. He also highlighted the importance of handling cases of violence against women and family violence with special diligence.
José Antonio Manzanares Vásquez, second nomination peace judge for the Oyotún district, spoke on behalf of the recipient judges. He expressed gratitude for the new computers and acknowledged the ongoing support ODAJUP provides through training and technical advice. Manzanares Vásquez also presented several proposals aimed at improving working conditions for local judges.
Proposals and future actions
Bravo Llaque responded that he will forward those proposals to the Executive Council of the Judiciary for evaluation. He explained that the equipment handover resulted from management efforts between the court and the Judiciary, alongside joint work by ODAJUP and the informatics office. He added that the court will continue to take action to support peace judges and strengthen justice in remote areas.
The court reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening local peace courts by providing updated technological tools. Institution officials said the initiative aims to bring judicial services closer to citizens and ensure more efficient attention, especially in rural and hard to access communities.
