Klelia Andriolatou Completes Triathlon in Katakolo

Greek actress Klelia Andriolatou took part in a triathlon in Katakolo, the coastal town where she was born, and shared photographs from the race and the medal ceremony on Instagram.

Andriolatou competed as part of a three-person relay team alongside two friends, Thodoris and Faidonas, splitting the swimming, cycling and running legs of the event between them.

She posted a series of images showing the team in action during the race as well as pictures from the moment they received their award.

A stranger's encouragement in the water

In her post, Andriolatou described a moment during the swimming leg when she lifted her head to check how much distance she had left to cover. A fellow swimmer who happened to be racing alongside her at that moment told her to keep going, saying she had it in her. She said she then put her head back down and pushed harder.

She wrote that there was no point in having spirit if you did not share it, adding that together, people can achieve anything.

Katakolo, her hometown

Katakolo is a small coastal town in the Ilia regional unit of the Peloponnese, in western Greece. It is best known as a cruise ship port serving visitors to the nearby archaeological site of ancient Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games.

Andriolatou described it as her favourite place and said it had been filled with heroes during the event, referring to the passion, willpower and determination shown by the participants. She also praised those who supported, cheered on and looked after the competitors.

Her first triathlon

Andriolatou said this was the first time she had taken part in a triathlon. She said her team, made up of herself, Thodoris and Faidonas, had given everything they had and still had plenty of spirit left over.

She said she struggled to find the words to describe how happy the experience had made her.

The actress closed her post by repeating the same message she had shared about the swimmer who cheered her on: that spirit is only worth having if it is shared, and that together, everyone can succeed.
