Peruvian actor and radio host Junior Silva announced the death of his dog Bronco, his companion of more than 14 years, in an emotional post on social media. Silva said the dog, who he referred to as his son, would no longer suffer.
Silva, best known for his role in the Peruvian television series 'Al fondo hay sitio', had spent recent days telling followers about his and Bronco's struggle as the dog stopped eating and could no longer walk or play with him. He had asked fans to send good energy so the animal would stop feeling pain, but the fight to keep Bronco alive and calm ended on Tuesday, September 8.
Junior Silva's tribute to Bronco
In his post, Silva said Bronco had been with him for 14 years, 8 months and 19 days and had made him very happy. He said he would love the dog forever and hoped to be reunited with him again someday, whether in this life or the next.
Silva described the moment of Bronco's death in detail. He said that at 6:03 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the dog appeared to gain strength in his legs and stopped feeling pain in his body, before growing wings and a halo and flying off, barking, to a place where his late companion Leonardo was waiting to play with him again.
Silva, who recently said he has never been unfaithful in his relationships, wrote that he might be waiting for him, or that they might meet again in this life. He said his heart was destroyed but that he would hold on to that hope, adding that he would cry for Bronco on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. He thanked the dog for 14 years, 8 months and 19 days of adventure, saying he made him very happy and that he would always remember and love him.

The heartfelt post, which included a photo of Silva petting Bronco, drew a wave of sympathy messages from fellow entertainment figures, including Andrés Wiese, Daniela Darcourt, Katia Palma, Natalia Salas and Gian Piero Díaz.
Warning signs before Bronco's death
On Monday, September 7, a day before the dog died, Silva had already signaled he was preparing to say goodbye to his loyal friend. He wrote that Bronco no longer had much appetite and was drinking little water, and that he was asking for prayers for his recovery even though everyone knew what moment they were facing. He asked followers to send good vibes so the dog would stop feeling pain and could feel calmer.
