Peruvian sports publications Deporte Total and El Dominical held a panel discussion focused on the writing and research behind four recent books on Peruvian football clubs: Centenario, Tricampeones, Soy Celeste and Íntimos y Eternos.
The event, led by editor Enrique Planas, drew a full audience. The highlight was the appearance of Julio César Uribe, a prominent figure in Peruvian football who appears on the cover of Soy Celeste.
Uribe recalled his first experience with writing, a book called Mensaje a los Carasucias published in the late 1990s. He also spoke about the value of reading, saying it was important for understanding one another as a community and appreciating differences.
Uribe also addressed Sporting Cristal supporters, urging patience and saying the club would fight hard to win the title.
