Actress Joey King, 27, has denied undergoing a facelift before this year's Met Gala, saying she had no cosmetic procedure done ahead of the event.

Speaking on the podcast "In Your Dreams" on Friday, September 11, King said she did not have a facelift and was glad the topic had come up. Addressing people who believed she had cosmetic surgery before the Met Gala, she said she wanted them to know she had no procedure done at all, no facelift.
Who is Joey King
King currently stars in "Practical Magic 2" alongside Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock. The Met Gala, held each May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is an annual fundraising event for the museum's Costume Institute and is known for its elaborate red carpet looks.
King went on to describe what she actually did to prepare for her red carpet appearance. She said she used a spray tan and then went through a 36-hour fast, eating no food and drinking only water, adding that she would not recommend doing this.

Why the fast stretched to 36 hours
King explained that the weekend before the Met Gala she had attended a party and, having drunk a fair amount of alcohol, felt bloated afterward. She said she looked awful and decided she needed to reset, planning a 24-hour fast, which she said is fine to do once a month if a person is healthy enough for it. She said that by the time she woke up and ordered lunch the next day, the fast had actually lasted 36 hours.
Lymphatic massage and facial before her second Met Gala
King also revealed that the day before the Met Gala she had both a lymphatic massage and a facial treatment, in order to be as ready as possible for her second consecutive appearance on the museum's famous steps.

She said they had done everything they could to look great on the red carpet, and that it worked, because everyone thought she had had plastic surgery.
