Huawei launched its flagship MatePad Pro 12 (2026) tablet on August 5, 2026, featuring an OLED display and a thin all-metal body. The company designed the device for users who need a full-fledged working gadget for office work, creative projects, and content consumption. It ranks among the thinnest and lightest 12-inch tablets currently available.
The tablet features a 12-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3036x1952 pixels, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, along with support for AI HDR technology. Huawei offers a Soft Light Edition with a nano-shielding technology coating that reduces reflections in bright lighting. A separate Enjoy Edition model includes a modified processor that provides a performance increase of about 25 percent.
Software and creative features
The device runs HarmonyOS 6.1 and includes a new Dual Desktop feature that lets users switch between tablet and desktop modes using a four-finger gesture. Huawei focused on artists and content creators by updating its proprietary GoPaint app with new brush types and integration with the TourBox professional controller for designers. The tablet also supports more than 200 PC-level applications.

The MatePad Pro 12 (2026) measures 264.2 by 172.9 by 4.7 mm and weighs 439 grams. It comes with a Kirin T93 processor, or a Kirin T93A processor on the Enjoy Edition. Memory configurations include 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM alongside 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage.
For photography, the tablet carries a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 12 MP front camera with an f/2.4 aperture. A 10,400 mAh battery powers the device, supporting 66 W wired charging and 40 W reverse charging.
