Google Launches Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold Phones

Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold smartphones powered by the 2nm Tensor G6 chip starting at $1099 in the US.

Google Launches Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL and Pro Fold Phones

Google has officially announced three new flagship smartphones, the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

All three handsets feature the new Tensor G6 processor manufactured on a 2-nanometer process by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, along with the Gemini Intelligence platform for artificial intelligence functions.

Google, based in Mountain View, California, designs custom mobile chips to power its flagship Android smartphones. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, known as TSMC, operates advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities where smaller nanometer process nodes allow transistors to operate with higher efficiency and reduced heat generation. The Gemini Intelligence platform integrates artificial intelligence tools directly into the device operating system.

HiLight indicator and camera design

One of the principal innovations across the new smartphones is the HiLight indicator positioned near the rear camera block. The light notifies users of incoming calls from selected contacts and displays active processing from Gemini even when the handset is placed screen down on a surface.

Battery capacity and charging speeds

Hardware specifications vary across the lineup regarding power capacity and wired charging speeds. The Pixel 11 Pro carries a 4850 mAh battery with support for 30-watt wired charging, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL includes a 5115 mAh battery compatible with 45-watt wired charging. The foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold contains a 4806 mAh battery.

Although battery capacities in the two larger models are lower than in the previous generation, Google said the devices offer longer overall battery life because of the energy efficiency of the Tensor G6 chip. For the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, the company promised up to 24 hours of operation without recharging.

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries measured in milliampere-hours power modern mobile devices, while higher wattage ratings in wired charging systems allow faster energy delivery to full charge.

Triple camera arrays and front sensors

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL feature an identical camera system on the back. The setup includes a 50 MP main module with a large sensor and optical image stabilization, a 48 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. A 42 MP front camera handles selfie shots.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is equipped with a 48 MP main camera, a 10.8 MP telephoto module with 5x optical zoom, a 10.5 MP ultrawide camera, and two 10 MP front cameras.

Optical image stabilization uses internal mechanisms to counteract hand movements during exposure, while periscope lenses fold incoming light through a prism to achieve higher optical magnification inside thin smartphone bodies. Autofocus on ultrawide lenses enables close-range macro photography.

US pricing and release schedule

Pre-orders for all three flagship smartphones are open now, with official retail sales scheduled to start on August 20.

In the United States, pricing starts at $1099 for the Pixel 11 Pro, $1299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and $1899 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All smartphones in the series now include 256 GB of built-in storage in their base configuration, with higher storage tiers available up to 1 TB.

Pixel Watch 5 wearable launch

The smartphone announcements follow the recent debut of the Pixel Watch 5, which features blood pressure analysis and up to 40 hours of battery life. The wearable device carries a starting price of $399.

Smartwatches expand mobile device ecosystems by tracking health metrics, managing notifications, and monitoring vital signs using optical sensors worn on the wrist.
