Greek actor Giorgos Konstantinou is returning for a third year in Jeff Baron's play "Visiting Mr. Green" ("Kathe Pempti kyrie Green"), after two successful theatrical seasons in Athens and Thessaloniki and a nationwide summer tour across Greece in 2026.
The production, directed by Kostas Gakis, is moving this time to Theatro ALTERA PARS, with Konstantinou playing Mr. Green and Orestis Tziovas playing Ross.
What the play is about
The story follows Mr. Green, a lonely New Yorker who has withdrawn from life after the death of his wife and lives isolated in his Manhattan apartment. Every Thursday he receives a visit from a young man named Ross, who works at a large multinational company.
According to the source material, what begins as a routine obligation gradually develops into a relationship that changes both men forever. Their unexpected encounter pulls them out of their comfort zones, shakes their certainties and softens their defenses.
The older Mr. Green and the younger Ross travel the full range of human experience together, from bursts of laughter to cathartic tears. Along the way they close the distance between them and become, in a deep and irreversible way, like family.
An award-winning play
"Visiting Mr. Green" has been staged in more than 50 countries and has won multiple theatre awards. It is often described as a tribute to human difference, presenting tenderness as a form of resistance against the cruelties of the past and the rigidities of the present.
Jeff Baron wrote the original play, and the Greek translation was done by Baron together with director Kostas Gakis, who also composed the music for this production.

The play runs for 90 minutes, with performances scheduled for Thursdays at 19:30, Fridays at 21:00, Saturdays at 18:00 and Sundays at 19:00.
