Explosions were reported on Monday at the refinery in Zawiya, in the northwestern corner of Libya, according to the Reuters news agency.
Citing information from two sources, Reuters reported that a fuel tank had exploded, adding that the cause remained unclear so far.
Earlier drone strike
On Saturday, an unmanned aircraft had struck a tank at the same refinery, causing a fuel leak that was later brought under control.
