Netflix will release the sixth and final season of Emily in Paris starring Lily Collins on December 24, featuring new storylines set in Greece.
Series creator Darren Star confirmed that the upcoming final batch of episodes expands the romantic comedy beyond France and Italy to showcase Mediterranean landscapes.
The announcement marks the end of a six-year run for lead character Emily Cooper, who has navigated life in the French capital wearing 12-centimetre heels across 50 episodes. Writing on Instagram, British-American actress Collins stated that the final season would offer viewers more fashion, more adventures, and more of Paris. She had previously told fans in the spring that the sixth season would deliver everything audiences loved about the show.
Filming locations in Greece
Star told the official Netflix website that production teams filmed across several international settings, choosing Greece as a primary destination to highlight spectacularly. He explained that he wanted the concluding season to be the show's most intense experience so far.
The creator added that the proximity of diverse cultures and landscapes is central to the charm of Europe. He noted that the production aimed to allow viewers to experience European travel vicariously by following Emily's journey to new destinations.
Emily in Paris first debuted on Netflix in 2020, following an American marketing executive who relocates from Chicago to Paris for a career opportunity. Star, an American television writer and producer, previously created long-running television hits including Sex and the City, Beverly Hills 90210, and Younger.
Romantic storylines and cast relationships
The narrative for the final season continues romantic plotlines established at the end of season five, which concluded with Emily breaking up with her Italian partner Marcello. Following the split, French chef Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, invited Emily to join him in the Mediterranean after five seasons of recurring romantic reconciliation and separation.
Love triangles remain central to the plot of the upcoming season. Emily's best friend Mindy, played by Ashley Park, enters the final episodes newly engaged to her former partner Nicolas, played by Paul Forman. However, Mindy remains affected by her previous relationship with Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount, who is Emily's former boyfriend.
Collins, the daughter of musician Phil Collins, previously starred in films such as Mirror Mirror and Rules Don't Apply before taking the lead role in the Netflix series. Co-star Park is a Tony Award-nominated Broadway performer, while Bravo worked as a model and actor in French television prior to joining the cast.
Agency Grateau and new character roles
Initial promotional photographs released for season six reveal an expanded role at marketing firm Agency Grateau for Princess Jane, played by Minnie Driver. The character is depicted recovering in France from a serious car crash.
Agency head Sylvie Grateau is played by French actress Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu. Commenting on Instagram alongside the initial images, Leroy-Beaulieu stated that the cast had returned in top form for the final season. The actress has previously expressed surprise at the global commercial success of the franchise.
Driver is an Academy Award-nominated English actress known for roles in Good Will Hunting and Circle of Friends. Leroy-Beaulieu is a veteran of French cinema and television, having appeared in films such as Three Men and a Cradle.
Season six trailer and release date
The final episodes of Emily in Paris will be available for streaming on Netflix on December 24. Promotional representatives for the production indicated that the first official trailer for season six will be released in the coming weeks.
