Loved ones were seen hugging outside the venue as they gathered before entering the mausoleum. Reports from the Daily Mail indicated that the Queen of Country was laid to rest wearing high heels beside her longtime husband.

Initial reports left it unclear whether Parton's burial took place during the Friday service. Her niece, Lainey Mae Parton, later confirmed the burial took place on Friday in an extensive post shared on Instagram.
Lainey Mae Parton, who referred to the singer as her grandmother, explained that she had wanted to wait until after the burial before posting her thoughts online. She described it as a painful moment to write about.
Reflecting on her upbringing, the niece said Parton always made her feel capable and supported her ambitions. She noted that Parton believed in her long before she learned to believe in herself.
Lainey Mae Parton added that while most people can recall a negative experience with a family member, she could not think of a single bad memory involving her aunt. Because Parton had no children of her own, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own children.
Memories of music and career support
Among her cherished memories, Lainey Mae Parton recalled being invited to sing with Parton on the album Smoky Mountain DNA while she was a high school freshman. Despite her intense nervousness, she said her aunt created an atmosphere of safety and confidence.
When she later decided to pursue studies at an esthetics school, Parton fully encouraged her decision. The singer provided financial backing throughout her training and helped launch her career.
