Communist Party leader Dimitris Koutsoumbas has posted a TikTok video mocking Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis over his recent artificial intelligence presentation for Greece in 2030.
Sitting in the driver seat of a car, Koutsoumbas used a smartphone GPS navigation application to criticize government policy by entering Greece 2030 as his destination.
The satirical clip was published on September 3, 2026, as a direct response to a video message released three days earlier by Mitsotakis.
In that earlier message on August 31, Mitsotakis used artificial intelligence to review his government's Greece 2.0 modernization program, declaring that modernization has no expiration date and setting 2030 as the next goal.
Satirical GPS route directions
In the video posted by Koutsoumbas, the mobile navigation system presented a series of route options that left the party leader dissatisfied.
The voice navigation app advised Koutsoumbas to turn right in 500 metres for 13-hour workdays. It then suggested continuing straight through high prices and low wages.
At the next exit, the GPS instructed him to follow signs leading toward military armaments. Koutsoumbas repeatedly gave voice commands to the phone asking for another road.
Accompanying the post, Koutsoumbas stated that there is not only one path toward 2030. He said a different road exists that does not pass through 13-hour work shifts, salaries that run out halfway through the month, and endless sacrifices.
Demands for wages and public spending
Koutsoumbas said that technological and production growth should improve daily life for the general public rather than fill the pockets of a wealthy few.
He argued that the government navigation system would never show such a route because that path requires working people to take the driver seat.
The KKE leader urged citizens to attend a nationwide protest rally organized for Saturday, September 5 at 17:30 at the Thessaloniki International Fair.
He called for increased funding for wages, public healthcare, and education, while demanding an end to sacrifices for war and corporate profits.
Political background and annual fair
Dimitris Koutsoumbas has served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece, known as KKE, since 2013. The Marxist-Leninist party regularly campaigns against free-market reforms, defense expenditures, and labor flexibility measures.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of the centre-right New Democracy party, has served as Prime Minister of Greece, framing his economic platform around digital transformation and infrastructure modernization under the Greece 2.0 recovery plan.
The Thessaloniki International Fair is an annual trade and political exhibition held every September in Greece's second-largest city. The event traditionally serves as a platform for the prime minister's major policy address, accompanied by rival demonstrations from opposition parties and trade unions.
