Celine Dion was seen enthusiastically rocking out and playing air bass during a Metallica concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Thursday.
The 58-year-old Canadian singer watched the heavy metal icons from a private suite on November 5 as the band performed as part of their Life Burns Faster run. Videos filmed by fellow concertgoers and shared widely on social media showed Dion standing up to mimic the stage moves of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.

With both hands in the air, Dion copied the energetic rhythm of Trujillo as he performed on stage alongside lead guitarist Kirk Hammett. The moment occurred during the traditional musical improvisation between the two musicians, known to fans as the Kirk and Rob Doodle, where Hammett and Trujillo step forward to play together.
According to the recorded setlist for the November 5 show, that specific instrumental segment featured the tracks Motown Yo Town and Copenhagen. Dion danced along from her suite, smiling and gesturing in time with the music.
Celebrity Guests at the Las Vegas Sphere
Dion was not the only rock luminary taking in the performance from the luxury boxes. Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash was reportedly present in the same private suite, while members of the rock band No Doubt were also spotted in attendance at the venue.
The Sphere in Las Vegas opened in 2023 and has quickly become one of the most prominent entertainment venues in the world. Known for its massive wraparound interior LED screen and specialized acoustic design, the domed arena regularly hosts major concert residencies and large-scale live productions.
Metallica, formed in California in 1981, remains one of the most successful heavy metal groups in music history. Trujillo joined the quartet as their permanent bass player in 2003, earning a reputation among rock fans for his low-slung bass posture, athletic stage stance, and powerful finger-style playing.

Family Connection to Heavy Metal
Dion's appreciation for the veteran metal group is well established. In February, the five-time Grammy Award winner shared a selection of favorite songs from her personal playlist, which included Metallica's 1996 release Until It Sleeps.
In that video clip, Dion explained that Eddie, one of her twin sons, counted Metallica as his favorite band. She then gave a spirited imitation of frontman James Hetfield, mimicking his powerful vocals and aggressive stage presence.
Dion shares her twin sons, Eddy and Nelson, with her late husband and manager Rene Angelil, who died in 2016. The singer has frequently spoken about how music provides a strong bond within her family at home.

Stage Return Following Neurological Diagnosis
Her energetic night out at the Las Vegas concert comes during a milestone year in her personal life and career. In September, Dion made an emotional return to live performing after a six-year absence, taking the stage in Paris to widespread acclaim.
She completed the first leg of her Paris concert run in October. The live appearances marked a major personal victory following her announcement in 2022 that doctors had diagnosed her with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological condition that had affected her ability to sing and perform live.
Stiff person syndrome is an uncommon autoimmune disorder that affects the central nervous system, causing severe muscle rigidity and painful spasms. The condition can significantly hinder physical mobility and vocal control, making regular concert performances extremely difficult without specialized medical care.
Before her diagnosis, Dion had become one of the most successful live performers in Las Vegas history, headlining record-breaking residencies at Caesars Palace. Her joyful appearance at the Sphere showed the music icon in high spirits as she enjoyed an evening off among fellow music royalty.
