Casio has unveiled five new solar-powered Baby-G BGA-3000 series watches in Japan featuring automatic radio time calibration and a compact 36-millimeter case.
The new lineup includes both lightweight resin models and versions with metallic composite finishes, designed for everyday wear with automated background functions that operate without requiring frequent user attention.

As reported by technology publication NotebookCheck, the BGA-3000 family combines an analog-digital layout within a resin structure topped by a stainless steel bezel. The main watch face features two analog hands and standard hour markers, alongside a small circular digital display dedicated to showing the date and managing operational settings.
Casio Computer Co., Ltd., founded in Tokyo in 1946, introduced the Baby-G line in 1994 as a smaller, shock-resistant counterpart to its flagship G-Shock brand. The new series maintains that long-standing tradition of compact, durable timepieces tailored for daily utility.
Solar Power and Radio Time Calibration

Energy for the BGA-3000 series is supplied through Tough Solar, Casio's proprietary solar charging system. The technology enables the internal battery to recharge using ambient light from natural or indoor sources, eliminating the need to connect the watch to an external power cable.
While Casio employs Tough Solar across several larger watch lines, the manufacturer has integrated the solar charging components into a significantly smaller and lighter casing for this release.
Timekeeping accuracy is maintained automatically via Multiband 6 radio synchronization. The system captures radio calibration signals to adjust the time without manual input whenever a compatible transmitter signal is available.
For international travel, the watch supports 31 time zones, allowing wearers to adjust local time without performing manual time difference calculations.
The BGA-3000 models also feature water resistance rated to 100 meters, providing sufficient protection against water exposure during daily activities without treating the timepiece as a delicate item.
Radio-controlled timekeeping technology relies on terrestrial atomic clock radio transmitters located across Japan, North America, Europe, and China, allowing compliant timepieces to maintain precise time calibration when within range of those signals.
Strap Variants, Specifications, and Weight

The primary distinction across the five BGA-3000 variants lies in the choice of strap materials, which directly affects both total weight and retail pricing. Resin strap versions weigh 32 grams, while models equipped with composite straps weigh 50 grams due to a blend of metal and resin construction.
Casio reserves the composite strap design specifically for two models: the silver-toned BGA-3000C-2A and the rose-gold-toned BGA-3000CG-5A.
Despite variations in external materials and weight, all five models share the same digital movement and core functional specifications. Built-in timing tools include a chronograph with precision measuring down to 1/100th of a second, a 60-minute countdown timer, a daily alarm, and an LED backlight for low-light visibility.
Synthetic resin is widely utilized in watchmaking for its resistance to impacts, sweat, and environmental wear, offering a lightweight alternative to metal. Composite straps mix resin links with metallic elements to combine the appearance of a traditional metal bracelet with reduced weight and flexibility.
Japan Pricing and International Availability
Pricing for the series varies based on the strap construction. Standard resin models start at 33,000 yen, which equals approximately 208 dollars. The silver-toned BGA-3000C-2A with a composite strap is priced at 39,050 yen, or roughly 247 dollars.
The rose-gold BGA-3000CG-5A represents the most expensive entry in the lineup, retailing for 42,350 yen, or about 268 dollars.

At the time of reporting, pre-orders for all five BGA-3000 models remain open exclusively in Japan. Casio has not announced official release dates or pricing details for Spain or other international markets.
