Actor Carlos Alcántara announced the death of his mother, Rosa Isabel Vilar Bazay, known affectionately as Chavela, on the afternoon of Sunday, August 9.
The former Patacláun cast member shared the news through a post on Instagram. He attached a photograph showing himself and his mother smiling together.
In his message, Alcántara thanked his precious mother and wrote that he would always remember her. He called her a great woman and thanked her for everything she did to raise him and his siblings on her own as a single mother.

Alcántara, also known as Cachín, added that he would hold on to her beautiful smile and sent all his love to her. He avoided giving further details in his social media post.
The cause of Vilar's death is currently unknown, and there was no previous record of her having any illness.
Inspiration for Asu Mare
Vilar gained widespread popularity in the entertainment industry after it became known that she was the main inspiration for her son's solo show and the hit film Asu Mare.

Tondero, the production company responsible for making the Asu Mare movie saga, shared an Instagram post expressing its condolences to Alcántara following his mother's death.
The company noted that Vilar won the hearts of Peruvians after her life story was portrayed on screen in the movie starring her son.
In its statement, Tondero expressed deep sorrow over her passing and described Chavela as a woman deeply loved by her family who became a close figure to many Peruvians. Tondero added that during this time of grief, Alcántara and his family wish to bid farewell to her in privacy, accompanied only by their loved ones.
