Bad Bunny sold out two closing concerts in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Wednesday within hours of tickets going on sale.
More than 1.5 million people joined the virtual queue on the ticketing platform PR Ticket to purchase tickets for the shows scheduled for August 22 and August 23 at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.
Event production company Move Concerts, which organized the performances alongside Noah Assad Presents, confirmed on social media that both dates were completely sold out.
Ticket sales opened at 10:00 a.m. local time (14:00 GMT). Within four hours of the launch, PR Ticket reported that more than 80 percent of the available capacity across both dates had been sold, with all remaining tickets selling out less than two hours later.
High demand and ticket restrictions
The overwhelming demand triggered immediate online ticket resale activity, with passes listed on third party platforms at prices significantly higher than face value.
To manage purchasing flow and combat automated buying, ticket access was restricted exclusively to Banco Popular cardholders through online transactions. Buyers were capped at a maximum of four tickets per transaction and limited to one transaction per card.
Organizers confirmed that the areas surrounding Hiram Bithorn Stadium will host a local market and interactive sponsor experiences during the event days. However, access to the stadium grounds will be strictly restricted to ticket holders.
Final stops on the international tour
The announcement of the two San Juan shows came just two days before tickets went on sale. Move Concerts posted an image displaying tour dates alongside a caption stating that they were closing at home, ending weeks of speculation and local rumors about a potential return performance.
The upcoming performances mark the final stop of the artist's world tour, titled 'DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS'. The tour encompassed stadium shows in 22 cities across four continents.
By concluding the tour in San Juan, the Puerto Rican musician returns to the site where the journey began. He previously launched the concert run with a historic 31-date residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico between July and September.
Milestones and record tour earnings
The sellout shows cap a milestone year for the artist. Bad Bunny made music history by becoming the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year with a record recorded entirely in Spanish for 'DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS'.
In June, music industry publication Billboard reported that Bad Bunny also became the first Latin artist to reach 1 billion dollars in tour gross earnings without singing in English.
