World number one tennis player Aryna Sabalenka took to the court at the US Open wearing a high-value jewelry set featuring 127 carats of precious and semi-precious stones.
The Belarusian athlete wore the luxury pieces during a mixed doubles match alongside Serbian star Novak Djokovic, before the pair were eliminated in the round of 16 of the tournament in New York.
The set featured an assortment of sapphires, tourmalines, and garnets cut in various colors and shapes. The necklace was constructed with open stone mountings that allowed the gems to shift during play, a design feature that luxury house Material Good said was crafted to mirror the movement of Sabalenka on the tennis court.
Prisma collection design
Named Prisma, the three-piece collection includes the matching earrings, necklace, and bracelet worn by the world top-ranked player. Prices for the custom pieces are not listed publicly and are disclosed only upon private request.
The appearance in New York follows a previous luxury display at Roland Garros in Paris, where Sabalenka competed while wearing jewelry valued at 140,000 euros. The US Open, held annually at Flushing Meadows, is the final Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season.
Manhattan store launch
Following her exit from the mixed doubles competition, Sabalenka visited the Material Good boutique in Manhattan for the official unveiling of the collection, where she wore the gemstone set once again.
Speaking at the event, Sabalenka said jewelry was a way for her to express herself both on and off the court. She added that the partnership with the Manhattan jeweler felt like a natural step in the evolution of her personal style.
