MacBook Neo prices in Russia have dropped to less than 50,000 rubles following several months of price reductions, according to Russian technology portal Hi-Tech Mail.ru.
The device, introduced in March as the cheapest computer in Apple's product line, saw its online retail price fall to 53,000 rubles at the start of autumn. On several smaller sales platforms, the laptop is available for under 50,000 rubles.
Hi-Tech Mail.ru reported that the laptop carried a minimum price tag of 70,000 rubles four months ago. During the summer, prices for the MacBook Neo ranged between 65,000 and 67,000 rubles before reaching current autumn levels.
Journalists at the publication noted that the MacBook Neo is aimed primarily at students, office workers, and other users who do not require high performance. The computer features a 13-inch IPS display screen, 256 gigabytes of built-in storage, and a weight of 1.23 kilograms. It is powered by the A18 Pro mobile processor, a chip previously installed in the iPhone 16 Pro smartphone.
Apple price adjustments in Russia
The lower cost for the MacBook Neo follows similar price reductions for older Apple hardware across the Russian market. At the end of August, retail price tracking showed that the iPhone 15 smartphone, which Apple originally released in 2023, became available for 42,000 rubles by the end of the summer.
