Alexandra Savelyeva Fined Over Social Media Advertising

Former Fabrika pop group lead singer Alexandra Savelyeva has been fined 32,100 rubles by a Moscow court for failing to pay mandatory social media advertising fees.

The court also ordered Savelyeva to reimburse an additional 8,000 rubles to cover state court fee expenses incurred during the legal proceedings brought against her.

According to Moscow court materials cited by Telegram channel 112, the enforcement action was launched by Russian state communications regulator Roskomnadzor. The federal agency filed the claim to recover required debt deductions owed by the singer in her registered capacity as an individual entrepreneur under Part 1 of Article 18.2 of the national Law on Advertising.

The court documentation did not specify which particular social media posts, promotional campaigns, or commercial partnerships generated the unpaid advertising fees.

Background of the pop vocalist

Alexandra Savelyeva rose to national prominence as a founding member of Fabrika, a celebrated Russian female pop vocal group formed in 2002 during the inaugural season of the television talent competition Star Factory. Born in Moscow, Savelyeva performed as a core vocalist with the musical group for 16 years, contributing to numerous chart-topping hits before leaving the band in 2019 to pursue a solo career and independent business ventures.

Following her departure from the group, the artist continued her musical activity while establishing commercial operations. In 2024, media outlets disclosed her performance fees for private corporate events after she relocated from Russia to live in Israel.

Advertising laws and regulator oversight

The legal claim stems from strict digital marketing regulations enforced across the Russian Federation. Under national advertising legislation overseen by Roskomnadzor, officially known as the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, online content creators and registered entrepreneurs must label commercial posts and submit mandatory reporting data.

Roskomnadzor monitors digital platforms to ensure that commercial promotions comply with state transparency standards and that required fiscal deductions are submitted to official registries. Failure to meet these administrative requirements can lead to financial penalties and judicial proceedings to recover unpaid regulatory fees.
