Acer unveiled its ultra-lightweight Swift Blade 14 laptop weighing 799 grams at the IFA 2026 technology fair in Berlin. The Taiwanese computer manufacturer announced the 14-inch device as one of the lightest notebooks in its class, according to a report from the trade show floor by news outlet LIGA.net.
The new notebook weighs approximately 430 grams less than Apple's 13-inch MacBook Neo, which comes in at 1.23 kilograms. Acer achieved the reduced mass by constructing the chassis from a combination of carbon fiber and a magnesium-aluminum alloy, with the overall body thickness starting at 12.9 millimeters.
IFA Berlin, held annually in Germany, is one of the world's oldest trade exhibitions for consumer electronics and home appliances. Acer, headquartered in New Taipei City, regularly uses the Berlin show to launch new hardware in its Swift line of thin and lightweight personal computers aimed at mobile professionals.
Display options and visual technology
The Swift Blade 14 features a 14-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The flagship configuration carries an OLED panel with a resolution of up to 2880 by 1800 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 400 nits, and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Acer will also offer configurations fitted with lower-tier OLED and standard IPS panels.
Organic Light-Emitting Diode displays illuminate individual pixels directly to provide deep contrast ratios and vivid colors, while traditional In-Plane Switching liquid crystal panels offer wide viewing angles at lower production costs. The DCI-P3 color space represents a common industry standard for high-fidelity digital media color reproduction.
Hardware specifications and connectivity
Internal hardware configurations rely on Intel Core processors, with options including the Core 7 350, Core 5 320, Core 5 315, and Core 3 304. Each chip includes integrated Intel graphics processing. The laptop carries 12 GB of LPDDR5 memory alongside a PCIe Gen 4 solid-state drive offering up to 1 TB of storage capacity.
LPDDR5 memory is designed to deliver higher data transfer rates while consuming less power than earlier generations, making it standard in ultra-portable notebooks. PCIe Gen 4 storage technology provides fast read and write speeds for operating systems and demanding applications.
Power is supplied by a 50 watt-hour battery. Physical connections include three USB-C ports, alongside wireless connectivity powered by Wi-Fi 6. For video calls, the notebook carries a Full HD camera equipped with a manual physical shutter for privacy control.
Regional availability and market rollout
Acer plans to begin selling the Swift Blade 14 across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region in December 2026. The company has not yet announced pricing details for the device.
The EMEA market designation represents a key commercial sales region for global electronics makers. Acer typically expands rollout to other global territories following initial regional launches.
